Wilma England

Wilma Ruth England, 84, Tolono, Illinois, passed away with her family by her side on January 31, 2023 at 7:00 PM at Carle Hospital, Urbana, IL.  Wilma was born on December 28, 1938 in Oakland, Illinois, the daughter of Virgil and Carrie (Hout) Trader.  She married Jim England on May 14, 1992, in Mansfield, Illinois. 

Wilma is survived by her husband, Jim of Tolono, Illinois; son, Doug (Betty) Butler of Sarasota, Florida; daughter, Lisa Butler, of Tolono, Illinois; stepdaughter, Shari (Michael) Upton, of Mattoon, Illinois. Her grandchildren: Jamie (Heather) Caldwell, of Sarasota, Florida; Kyle Butler of Sarasota, Florida;  Barry Caldwell of Delaware, Ohio; step grandchildren; Nathan Upton and Sara Upton, both of Mattoon, Illinois.  Her great grandchildren; Skylar Caldwell of Sarasota, Florida; Jay Lyndsey, and Joseph Caldwell of Delaware, Ohio.  Step great grandsons: Grayson and Jakobi, of Mattoon; and her sister, Garnett (John) Grissom of Decatur, Illinois.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Sherman Trader and her sister, Mary Thomason.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.  Wilma was known for her great sense of humor.  She enjoyed gardening, crafts and puzzles, as well as spending time with her family and friends.  She especially loved to cuddle with her grand dog, Ollie.  Wilma was a believer in God and was a member of Faith Baptist Church of Champaign, Illinois.  She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

A funeral service will be held on February 4, 2023 at 12:30 PM at Freese Funeral Home, Tolono, Illinois.  Visitation will begin at 10:30 AM until the time of the service.  Interment will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens, in Champaign, Illinois, immediately following the funeral service.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the family for funeral expenses.
