Una Lee Johnson

Una L Johnson  *Lee* 87 from Urbana passed surrounded by family in Urbana on Sunday( March 9th) at Carle Hospital. Lee was born Feb 5th,1938 in Gowrie, IA the daughter of Wilfred and Mary Viola (Currier) Sells. Lee was one of eight children and the last living sibling all who proceeded her in death.  Lee married the love of her life Jerry Johnson, blessed with 62 years until his passing Jan 2020. Lee leaves behind to carry on her loving spirit, Sons Marc (Shelby), Bryan (Jackie) Johnson, grandchildren Brittany (Jayson) Griffith, Nicholas (Emily) Johnson, Christian, Claudia and great grandchildren, Benjamin Griffith, Brandon Scott. Lee and Jerry settled in Urbana, where they raised their kids, grandkids. Even other kids from the neighborhood would be welcomed, especially if chocolate chip cookies were fresh out of the oven. Lee worked for Illinois Bell/ A T & T for over 30 years until retirement where she made many friends. Mom would be making her zucchini bread or her famous Macaroni Salad for cook outs at Lake Mattoon where mom and dad spent almost every weekend and vacations to fish, boat, and relax.
Please join family and friends at her going home service at Freese Funeral Home, 302 E. Grand, St Joseph with Captain Heath Sells officiating on March 17, 2025 with visitation from 11 to 1 and service to follow at 1pm.
Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign.
