Ricky Lee Spillers 70, of Urbana passed away on Wednesday February 14, 2024 surrounded by his family.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Thursday February 22, 2024 from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at Freese Funeral Home 302 E. Grand Ave. St. Joseph. Committal Service will be at 1:00 P.M. at Danville National Cemetery, Danville.
Ricky was born January 4, 1954 in Urbana. The son of Darlene (VanSchoyck) Spillers.
He is survived by his children; Mary (Brad Taylor) Spillers of Fithian, Tabitha (Zach) Brewer of Havelock, NC, Joe (Liz) Spillers of Rankin. 7 grandchildren; Brianna Brown, Tim Cordier, Addisyn and Alice Brewer, Aries. Riley and Makayla Spillers. Mother Darlene Spillers of Oakwood. 3 sisters Janet Lewendowski, Deena Costley, Teresa Howard. 2 brothers Mike Spillers and Dave Spillers. Several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and baby brother Joe Spillers.
Ricky was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving from 1974 to 1984 with the rank of Staff Sergeant in the 101st Airborne.
He was a lifelong Illini, Bears and Cubs fan. He enjoyed his cars.
The family would like to thank the staff of McLean County Nursing Home, Normal for the care and love they gave Ricky for the past 18 months.
