Richard W. Samson, 92 of Sidney passed away at 5:15 PM, Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at home.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Monday. January 16, 2023 at Sidney United Church with Rev. Lee Jenkins officiating.  Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Sidney.  Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:00AM Monday at the church.  Freese Funeral Home, Sidney is assisting with arrangements.

Mr. Samson was born June 23, 1930 in Homer, a son to Perl and Inez Young Samson.  He married Irma Toppe on March 22, 1953, she survives.  Also surviving are three children; DiAnna Kammin, Cathy McCarty, and Kevin (Wendy) Samson all of Sidney, six grandchildren; Jason (Jessica) Kammin, Christine (Andrew) Law, Cheryl (Adam) Gerace, Kyle Samson, Tyler (Nancy) Samson, and Mickey (Kelly) Miller, 15 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers; Carl, Gene, and Dean and a sister; Martha Bear.

He was employed at Humko as a maintenance supervisor and also worked in construction with John Kinney.

He enjoyed camping, mowing and his dog; Buster.
