Rebecca Irene Clark Obituary

Rebecca “Becky” Irene (Hardin/Lonberger) Clark, 70, went to be with Jesus, her Lord and Savior, at 5:10pm on September 17, 2026 after a long battle with cancer. She was a loved and cherished wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend; the joy of her presence will be deeply missed.

Becky was born to Harry and Frances Hardin in Greenfield, IN on July 13, 1956; graduated in 1974 from Decatur Central High School in Indiana and graduated with a bachelor’s from Olivet Nazarene University in 1978. Growing up in a Pastor’s home as the youngest of four girls, Becky served the church in numerous capacities throughout her entire life and was a member of Grace Church of the Nazarene in Champaign, IL when she passed. Becky was a caregiver through and through, always caring for the needs of others before her own. Working most of her professional career as an Administrative Secretary in the Controlled Science Lab at the University of Illinois for almost 25 years, Becky was selected as employee of the year twice.

Becky is survived by her husband, Neal Clark, her sisters, Diane Miller and Martha Walters, her children Dr. Carlos A. Lonberger II (Kristen), Marjorie Orr (Jeremy), and Marcy Woodward (Rajendra “Paco”); her beloved grandchildren, Camden Lonberger (Jordyn), Colson Lonberger, Caiden Lonberger, Christian Lonberger, Teagan Orr, Andrew Orr, Deklin Orr, Makena Orr, Logan Woodward, Drake Woodward, Collin Woodward, Spencer Woodward, Eli Woodward, and Levi Woodward; several brothers and sisters in law, dozens of nieces and nephews, as well as many others that she adopted as family. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Harry and Frances Hardin, her first husband, Rev. Carlos A. Lonberger I, her sister, Dr. Linda Hardin.

A Memorial Service will be held at Grace Church of the Nazarene at 2403 W. Kirby Ave., Champaign, IL 61821 on October 12, 2026, at 2pm; visitation will be 12-2pm at the church.
