Michael Sean Palmer

Michael Sean Palmer of Tolono died Saturday, June 11, 2022, at his home from complications due to colon cancer. He was 57.

Mike was born February 20, 1965, to Rev. Miley E and Janet (Kuhlmann) Palmer, in Normal, Illinois. He graduated in 1983 from Richwoods High School in Peoria, where he excelled as a long-distance runner in track and cross country. Mike made a career out of laying carpet and flooring in the Central Illinois area. On August 26, 2000, he married Teresa Lee Denney. He became a father to Teresa’s sons Jason and Anthony (Danielle) Denney, and proud grandfather of James (Cassie), John (Gabrielle), Miranda, Mia, Bryson, Ashlyn, Emma, and Isabella. He was great-grandfather to Alex and Lily.

Mike is survived by his wife Teresa, their sons, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; his mother Janet Palmer; his sisters Beth Best (Jim), Mary Kay Mace (Eric), and Patti Wegeng (Dave); nieces Teresa Kellogg and Maggie O’Connor; and multitudes of extended family and friends. His father and his niece, Ryanne Mace, preceded him in death.

Mike enjoyed golfing and being with his family, especially his grand- and great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be Saturday, June 18, at the Freese Funeral Home, 407 N. Bourne, Tolono. Visitation will take place at 10:00 am; memorial service will begin at 11:00.
