Marilyn L. Hoch

Marilyn L. Hoch, 88, of Tolono passed away at 11:01 AM, Friday, September 6, 2024 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Celebration of Life will be on October 12, 2024 from 4:00 to 5:00 PM at UA Local 149 Plumbers and Steamfitters at 1003 N. Dunlap, Savoy.  Private graveside services will be held.  Freese Funeral Home, Tolono is assisting with arrangements.

 Mrs. Hoch was born December 26, 1935 in Decatur, a daughter to Russell and Louise Jamison Massey.  She married Charles L. Hoch on September 28, 1956 in Champaign, he preceded in death on January 24, 2000.

Surviving are four sons; Steve Hoch of Sadorus, Dan Hoch of Urbana, Dave (Julie) Hoch of Monticello, and Glen (Cindy) Hoch of Deerfield, two daughters; Becky (Steve) Billman of St. Joseph and Karen Myers of Urbana, eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother.

She loved gardening and was very well respected in her field as an associate editor for Ground Water (technical journal).  Her efforts helped Ground Water achieve it high level of prestige in the scientific community.
