Louis Leroy Werremeyer

Louis Leroy Werremeyer, 90 of Sidney, passed away at 11:00 PM Saturday, August 9, 2025 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Friday, August 15, 2025 at Free Methodist Church on Mattis, Champaign with Rev. Chadwick Anderson and Rev Dick Smith officiating..  Burial will be Mt. Hope Cemetery, Sidney.  Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM Thursday at Freese Funeral Home, Sidney.

Mr. Werremeyer was born May 9, 1935 in Sidney a son to Clarence and Helen Toppe Werremeyer.  He married Joyce Brummet on November 29, 1959, she survives.  Also surviving are two sons; Randy Werremeyer and Timothy Werremeyer both of Sidney, a adopted at heart daughter; Yucha (Greg) Cain of Japan, grandchildren; Sang (Minnie), Kayley Lemon and Taylor Onstott, and great-grandchildren Amber and Rudy.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Karen Fenwick.

He served in the National Guard and was an avid blood donor, always donating as soon as he was able.  He farmed in the Sidney area and was well known for his sense of humor and orneriness.
