Karen A Shipley

Karen A. Shipley, 68, of Tolono passed away at 5:23 PM, Monday, November 3, 2025 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Funeral services will be 11:30 AM, Saturday, November 8, 2025 at Freese Funeral Home, Tolono with Rev. Ken Young officiating.  Burial will be at Bailey Memorial Cemetery, Tolono.  Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:30AM, Saturday at the funeral home.

Karen was born September 7, 1957 in Urbana, a daughter to Charles and Diane Carico Hulse.  She married Kevin Shipley on January 15, 1986 in Urbana, he survives.

Also surviving are six children; Wayne (Amanda) Bialeschki, Kent (Raynel) Shipley, Kelly (Curt) Wayne, Brandy (Johann) Koebbe, James Shipley, and Kimberly (Jase) Sheets, 16 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and siblings; Kenny (Eileen) Young, Paula (Ron) Baker, and Tammy (Chuck) Edmison.

She was preceded in death by her mother; Diane Hulse, two brothers Ed Young and Charles Hulse Jr and her father-in-law; Richard Shipley.

She loved being a musician, being a nurse and her grandchildren.
