Joan Jones

Joan Jones, 90 of Covington, formerly of Philo, passed away at 9:02 PM EST, Sunday, August 3, 2025 at Waters of Covington, Covington, IN.

Graveside services will be at noon on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at Locust Grove Cemetery, Philo with Pastor Michael Stoerger officiating.  Freese Funeral Home, Sidney is handling the arrangements.

Mrs. Jones was born August 15, 1934 in Philo, a daughter to Wilbert and Helen Oderbrecht Plotner.  She married Richard Jones on October 29, 1953, they had 59 years of marriage before his passing on January 28, 2012.

Surviving is a daughter; Donna (Matt) Boulos of Covington, IN, two grandchildren; Christopher (Erica) Miller of Green Bay, WI and Danielle Boulos of Colorado Springs, CO and six great-grandchildren; Evelyn, Silva, Fulton, Gabriella, Lucy and Elizabeth.  She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother; Charles Plotner, a sister; Judy Plotner and a son; David Jones.

She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sadorus and also held a special place in her heart for Zion Lutheran Church in Philo.  She was employed at Philo Exchange Bank.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren and volunteering at church.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church or Zion Lutheran Church.
