James "Jim" Robinson, 88, of Tolono passed away at 4:54 A.M. Saturday June 20, 2026 at Arbor Rose, Tolono.

 Jim was born July 4, 1937 in Champaign. The son of Don and Mary (Douglas) Robinson. He married Peggy Rohde on September 20, 1959. She preceded him in death on February 24, 2024.

 He is survived by his children; Douglas (Dawn) Robinson of Bloomington, Kimberly Robinson of Tolono, Brett (Zahra) Robinson of Tolono. 4 Grandchildren Michelle (Andy) Erins, Amanda (Doug Raber) Robinson, Michael Robinson, Ryan Robinson. 3 great-grandchildren. Brother Gary (Jeannie) Robinson of Tucson, AZ

 He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Kenny Robinson.

 Jim grew up in Edgewood, IL and graduated from Effingham High School, where he excelled in sports.

 He worked at the Eisner Warehouse where he worked for 40 years. Jim also owned and operated Robinson Income Tax service for over 50 years. He also drove a charter bus achieving 4 million miles driven over his career.

 Jim moved to Tolono in 1964, and built his house in 1974 where he lived the rest of his life. To Jim there was no such thing as a stranger, he loved talking to people. He was also a dog lover. 

Throughout his life he thanked the Lord for giving " a poor boy from Edgewood a great life, letting him raise his family in Tolono, and surrounding him with his many friends".

 Funeral services will be at 12:00 P.M. Friday June 26, 2026 at Freese Funeral Home 407 N. Bourne St. Tolono. The Rev. Glen Corbley will officiate. Burial will be in Bailey Memorial Cemetery, Tolono. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. Friday.
