Jeanette Ping

Jeanette Ping, 61 of Tolono passed away at 4:21 AM, Sunday, September 10, 2023 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana surrounded by her family. 

Funeral mass will be 10:00AM Thursday, September 14, 2023 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Tolono with Rev. Patrick O’Neal officiating.  Burial will be at St. Patrick Cemetery, Tolono.  Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 PM Wednesday at Freese Funeral Home, Tolono with the rosary at 4:30PM. 

Mrs. Ping was born April 19, 1962 in Olney, a daughter to Raymond and Jean Debolt Steber.  She married Jeffry Ping on April 16, 1983 in Olney, he preceded in death on September 30, 2018. 

Surviving are her parents of Olney, five children; Jared (Erin) Ping of Tolono, Jackie (Donnie) Munds of Tolono, Joel (Mallory) Ping of Mahomet, Jana Ping of Tolono, and Julia Ping of Tolono, five grandchildren; Jonah and Audrey Ping of Tolono, Melodie and Jameson Munds of Tolono and Cooper Ping of Mahomet, a brother; Gary (Joyce Ann) Steber of Marion, and a sister; Joyce (Mark) Weiler of Clay City. 

She was preceded in death by a son, Jamie Ping and in-laws Perry and Wanda Eubanks Ping 

She graduated from East Richland High School in 1980. She was a member of St. Patrick Parrish where she served on the Altar and Rosary Society.  She was an active mother and grandma; her family was her life. She was a proud parent, attending every sports event, concert, and school event her children were part of. She enjoyed spending time with her lifelong friends, attending her school reunions, cooking family meals, and spending beautiful nights on the patio with her children and grandchildren. She was famous for her Chocolate Chips Cookies by family, friends, and schools. Her home was a welcoming place for anyone that walked through the door. She is loved and respected by all who knew her.
