Jean Marie Einck, 70, of Rantoul, Il., revered as a pillar of strength, perseverance and love.
Her battle ended on Dec. 16th, 2024.
Jean was born to Fred and Joan Einck on Sept. 13th, 1954 in Urbana, Il.
She graduated from Rantoul Township High school in 1972.
Jean and Philip Shields had four children, Colin, Amy, Julie, and Matthew.
In addition to being a loving mother to her children, she was a hard worker on the farm. She drove the auger wagon during harvest , took care of farming books, raised Labrador dogs, and was an avid gardener.
She later became a Mary Kay consultant and was employed at Carle Orthopedics as a receptionist as she enjoyed helping and caring for everyone.
Jean loved her grandchildren wholeheartedly and was the best sister and aunt anyone could ask for.
Her last years were spent at Arbor Rose of Monticello and Tolono where those who knew and cared for her were captured by her sweet smile, laugh, and love for music. She knew all the words to every song that was played.
-A special thank you to the nurses and staff who truly went above and beyond for her care. We can’t thank you enough.
Jean is survived by her children, Amy, Matt (Megan) Shields. Her grandchildren, Madisyn, Dylan, Grant, Alyssa, Easton, and Sawyer. Her siblings, Rick (Judy) Einck, Greg (Kristi) Einck, Fred (Patti) Einck, and Jodi (Blake) McCormick.
She is preceded in death with her father, mother, her son, Colin, and her daughter, Julie.
She will be greatly missed but we have peace in knowing she is with her parents and children whom she missed, and in the arms of Jesus.
Visitation will be held on Dec 21st 10-11 at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church in Thomasboro, Il. Mass, burial, and luncheon following.
