Janet June Colee Bentley Obituary

Janet June Colee Bentley 88 of Tolono passed away on March 6, 2025 at Accolade Nursing Home, Savoy.


There will be a private burial later at Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign.


Janet was born June 11, 1936 in Tolono, a daughter to Everette and Elizabeth “Tootie” Colee.  She married Phillip Wilson, with whom she had a son Rick (Deanna) Wilson of Tolono and daughter Mishelle (Mike) Swope or Bellview, FL, he preceded in death on September 1, 1968.  She then married Lowell Bentley on March 3, 1973 in Tolono, he survives.


Also surviving are her children, grandsons; Creighton (Stacy) Wilson of St. Joseph, Phillip (Deedee) Wilson of Camargo, Joey (Julie) Swope of Homer, and Mat (Melissa) Swope of Bellview, FL,  nephews; Tim Colee of Villa Grove and Bob (Tammy) Messer of Tuscola, and a sister; Retha (Ed) Tolley of Sidney.


She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Charles Colee, grandson, Kyle Swope and a niece; Annette Colee. 


She graduated from Unity High School and Parkland.  She was employed as an optical assistant for Dr. Eli B. Mandel and later received a Certified Nursing Assistant Certificate from Parkland College and did private duty in individual’s homes. 


Her hobbies included crafts, crocheting, and collecting Fenton Art Glass.


Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association.
