Eva Venis

Eva M. (Lewis) Venis was born on January 28, 1936 to Jennie M. Lewis in Champaign, IL.  She left this Earth surrounded by family on May 1, 2025.

Eva enjoyed baking, gardening, crossword puzzles, and taking the grandkids to garage sales every Saturday.  What she most enjoyed was spending time with her family playing cards or attending their activities.  You never met a better statistician.  Pa and she were avid square dancers in their younger days.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Venis, her mother, Jennie M. Lewis and her brother, Lynn Lewis.

She is survived by her kids, Sandi (Venis) and Jim Burke, Tom and Sheryl Venis, her grandkids; Angie (Burke) and Sloan Anderson, Beth (Burke) and Brandon Dubson., Matt Burke, Andy Venis, and Patti Balla, Stephanie (Venis) and Daryl Premkumar, her great grandkids; Makynzie Miller and Jadyn Bayer, Lukas Whitt, Brixton Dubson, Easton and Beaux Burke and Emily Balla.  She is also survived by a cousin, she saw as a sister, Ina Billman.

Funeral services will be 12:00 PM, Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at Freese Funeral Home, Sidney with Pastor Patti Wise officiating.  Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Sidney.  Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
