Emmett Wilson Woodcock, 93 of Tolono went to be with the Lord at 5:00 PM Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at home.

Emmett was born at home on September 4, 1930, in Barren County, KY, a son to William Bufford “Tucker” and Frances Elizabeth (Agers) Woodcock.  He had eight siblings.  He married Corrine Jane Webb on June 17, 1950, in Tolono, she preceded him in death on Monday, December 3, 2020.  He is survived by, six children; Karen (John) Lohse of Springfield, IL, Deborah (Russ) Carlson of Lucas, TX, Jeff (Kandy) Woodcock, Melinda (Bill) Reich and Steve (Carla Ogle) Woodcock all of Tolono and Suzanne (Tim) Mitchell of Pesotum.  10 grandchildren; Eric Lohse, David Lohse, Jason (Rachel) Carlson, Lindsey (Travis) Wieck, Travis (Jasmine) Woodcock, Jared (Jamie) Woodcock, Shane (Grace) Woodcock, Heath (Katrina) Woodcock Brandon Reich and Megan Reich.  11 great-grandchildren; Sydney and Sloane Carlson, Drake, Bodie and Nile Wieck, Nora, Savannah, Lyla, Sadie, Rhett and Eloise Woodcock, two sisters; Sarah Elizabeth Woodcock of Long Beach, CA, Betty Sue Dubson of Buncombe, IL and a brother; Charles Edward Woodcock of Somerset,KY.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters; Doshie Etta Warf and Emmie Irene Russell and three brothers; Richard Woodcock, William Bufford Woodcock Jr and David Lee Woodcock and a daughter; Mary Francis Woodcock.

Emmett will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

Emmett worked at Universal Bleacher Company, J.M. Jones and Lake Park Subdivision where he did maintenance work for 50 years.

He was one on the original members of the First Baptist Church of Tolono, that he helped build in 1956.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:00AM, Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at First Baptist Church of Tolono, 204 W. Holden St., Tolono with Rev. Mike Frazier officiating.  Funeral services will follow at 11:00AM at the church.  Burial will be at Bailey Memorial Cemetery, Tolono.
