Donald Holsapple

Donald Holsapple, 89 of Homer passed away at 7:11 PM, Sunday, February 20, 2022 at C-U Nursing and Rehab, Savoy.

Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Freese Funeral Home, Sidney.  Burial will be at Greenup Cemetery, Greenup, IL.

Mr. Holsapple was born March 12, 1932 in Mattoon, Il a son to Charles Holsapple and Laura Davidson.  He married Rose Ann Robinson on July 1, 1951, she survives.  Also surviving are three children; Stuart Holsapple of Urbana, Sally (Mike) Schelling of Rantoul, and Annette (Michael) Ridinger of Sidney, three grandsons; Ryan Ridinger, and Greg and Alan Schelling, six great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

He was employed on the Illinois Central Railroad retiring in 1995.  After retirement he moved to McDaniels, KY and lived on Rough River Lake.  In 2004 he moved back to Homer.

He enjoyed camping, fishing and watching the Green Bay Packers.
