Deborah J Cook

Deborah J Cook, 71, of Champaign passed away at 11:24 AM, Monday, August 31, 2026 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Celebration of Life will be at 6:00 PM on Sept. 5, 2026 at her residence.  Freese Funeral Home, Tolono is assisting with arrangements. 

Mrs. Cook was born June 16, 1955 in Champaign, a daughter to Robert and Norma Kesler Jelly.  She married Melvin Cook on July 28, 1974 in Champaign, he survives.

Also surviving are two children; Chasity (Ken) McGee and Moriah Cook, nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and two siblings; Vicki Demko and Terry Jelly.

She was preceded in death by a son Cedric and a daughter Adalyne.

She was a Boy Scout, Cub Scout and Girl Scout Leader.  She loved her children and grandchildren.  She also enjoyed her garden, her flowers, knitting and crocheting.

She was also an avid bowler and loved to attend Scottish Games.
