David Roe Haddock, 68, of Philo, IL, died peacefully at home at 7:25 a.m., with his wife and family at his side.
David was born in Charleston, IL on November 19, 1954 to Herman Roe and Norma Lee (Biggs) Haddock, the second child of four in the family. Both parents preceded him in death.
David graduated from Charleston High School in 1973. He married Carla Childress in Charleston on October 26, 1978. They had one son, Jacob Roe Haddock, who, along with his wife, Amanda and their children survive and live in Urbana. He & Carla divorced in 1994.
David married Jan A. King on February 2, 2010 in St. Thomas, USVI. They had no children, but instead were blessed with dogs of their own and of others to spoil. She survives, as do his loyal and loving dogs Scruffie, Ceasar, Fraggle Rock, George and Lewy.
David was the Maintenance Supervisor at Brookdale Senior Living in Urbana for almost 7 years. He loved his job and the residents! He was a member of the Dinosores Motorcycle Club for decades.
In addition to his son, David is survived by his sister, Pam Haddock Anderson of Effingham, brothers Gary (Barb) Haddock of Charleston, Mike (Tracy) Haddock of Windsor, Sister-in-law Nancie (Ron) King Mertz of Rockford, Brother-in-Law Van King of West Hollywood, CA, several nieces and nephews and a variety of very dear friends whom he loved and loved to tease.
Freese Funeral Home is in charge of the cremation and arrangements. Visitation will be held Saturday Dec. 31, 2022 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at Freese Funeral Home, Sidney, with a Memorial Celebration of Life at 3:00 PM at the funeral home. Following the services, guests will be encouraged to raise a glass in David's memory at Daly's in Philo.
