Damian “Luther” Butler, 71, of Tolono passed away at 1:42PM, Thursday, April 18, 2024 at home.
There will be no services at this time.
Luther was born November 13, 1952 in Urbana, a son to Leonard and Clara White Butler. He married Kathy Knapp on February 21, 1989 in Las Vegas, she preceded in death on November 15, 2020.
Surviving are two children: Erik (Roberta) Petitt of Springfield and Amy (Lennie) Peters of Springfield, and six grandchildren; Ashlyn, Isabella, Devin, Brenna, Erik Jr, and Gavin.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister; Teresa JoAnn Bulter.
Luther enjoyed camping at the Sadorus Sportsman Club with Kathy, gardening, yard work, especially mowing. He also enjoyed having beers and the local bars. He was adored by his grandchildren known to them as “Papa Slim Jim”.
