Cedric G Cook

Cedric G. Cook, 36 of Tolono passed away at 11:17AM, Sunday, July 3, 2022 at home.

Memorial services will be 1:00PM Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Freese Funeral Home, Tolono with Rev. Ken Young officiating.  Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.

Cedric was born December 21, 1985 in Urbana, a son to Melvin and Deborah Jelly Cook.  He married Laura Rascher on March 4, 2018 in Champaign, she survives.  Also surviving are; his parents Melvin and Deborah Cook of Champaign, three children; Shylan Cook of Farmer City, Lilly Cook of Tolono and Henry Minnick of Tolono, his paternal grandmother; Garnet Grien of Champaign, two sisters; Chasity (Kenneth) McGee and Moriah Cook of Urbana, and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister; Adalyne Zaricor, his maternal grandparents; Robert and Norma Jelly and paternal grandfather; Melvin Hascall Cook.

He had a passion for working.  He was a roofer and a longtime member of Roofers and Water Proofers Local 97 of Champaign.  He enjoyed fishing, being outdoors, and going to Scottish Festivals.  He loved staying in touch with his heritage.  His pride and joy was spending time with his children.
