Carol Sue “Suzie” Burwell (fka Morenz), of Tuscola, IL passed away on December 22, 2022 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.

Carol Sue was born on August 29, 1946 in Champaign, Il, the daughter of Murlin Burwell and Opal Leota (Lee) Burwell. She was preceded in death by her parents, her ex-husband, and her older brother Murlin E. Burwell, Sr.

She is survived by her son, Mark A. Morenz-Harbinger (Deborah) and two grandchildren, Travis and Kyler — all of the Seattle, Wa area, and her son Brian E. Morenz of Tolono, Il.; as well as two brothers, Robert A. Burwell of Tolono, Il. and Glenn F. Burwell of Tuscola, Il.

Carol Sue enjoyed working in the yard, making people laugh with her word-play and excellent cartoon drawings, watching basketball, and listening to country-western music. She also enjoyed long stints working in various industries: as a hotel Manager of Housekeeping, a Security Guard, and a Home Heathcare Aide.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Freese Funeral Home, 407 N. Bourne St., Tolono. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
