Beverly "Bev" Jones Obituary

Beverly J. “Bev” Jones passed away peacefully on November 15, 2024, at home surrounded by her family.

Bev was born August 27, 1936 to parents, James Carleton and Madge (Driver) Carleton.  She grew up on a farm in Longview with sisters, Marian, Margaret, and Dorothy.

She attended Longview High School and graduated in 1954.  She worked for the State of Illinois for many years before retiring in 1985.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Terri Nonman, and sisters, Marian (Joseph) Wilson, Margaret (Tom) Casteel, and Dorothy “Dot” (Marvin) Hardke.

Bev is survived by her two children; Jerri (Chris) Boley of Urbana and Jim (Lori) Nonman of Sidney.  She is also survived by grandchildren, Nikki (Jeff) Boswell of Washington, IL, Cari (Ken) Midkiff of St. Joseph, and Rodney (Karla) Nonman of Myrtle Beach, SC, great-grandchildren, Clayton Frederick, Mia Fredrick, Nolan Byerly, Makayla Nonman, Ava Midkiff, Gavin Midkiff, Konnor Orwick, Kai (Austin) Carter, and Wyatt Orwick.  She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Bev enjoyed knitting, making Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls for friends and following grandchildren’s sports.  She also enjoyed having lunch with the Red Hats group and special friends, Mary Kaiser, Becky Hanson and Jill Jamison.

The family would like to express special thanks to Transitions Hospice.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Sidney Community Building on December 7, 2024 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM.
