Awanda Heyen

Awanda Lee (Limkeman) Heyen, 89, formerly of Broadlands, IL, born July 25, 1934 in Sutter, IL, passed away and went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL. 

Awanda retired from the ABL School District in Broadlands, IL as a special education bus driver and lunch monitor.  She also had daycare and cleaned houses.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, as well as being a wonderful mother and housekeeper.  She was a member of the First Christian Church in Villa Grove, IL. 

Surviving is her husband Kenneth of 64 years, sons Kevin (Susan) and Kendall (Brenda), daughter Alisa (Tim), grandchildren Brandon, Brittany, Makenzie (Alexis), Alexander, Maddison, and great granddaughter Cecelia Kay. 

Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 6th from noon until 1:30 pm at the First Christian Church in Villa Grove, IL.  Funeral services will follow with Pastor Mike Zylstra officiating.  Burial will be at the Locust Grove Cemetery in Philo, IL. 

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
