Mary Bialeschki Obituary

Mary D. Bialeschki, 93, of Tolono, IL passed away at home on the family farm on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. Mary was born to Otto and Ethel (Tascher) Wishall on August 15, 1930 in Tolono. After marrying her high school sweetheart, Carl F. Bialeschki, on August 19, 1950, they settled down on the family farm where they lived and raised their family for their entire lives. Carl preceded her in death six years ago. Their youngest son, Timothy, and Mary’s parents also preceded her in death. Mary is survived by two daughters, Deb (Rhonda Mickelson) Bialeschki, and Diane (Roger) Henning and three sons, Bill (Debra) Bialeschki, Doug (Kathy) Bialeschki, and Vince (Marcy) Bialeschki, 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 3 step-great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Mary was the epitome of an active, hardworking farm wife. She was a ready helper with farm chores, especially mowing, and enjoyed raising her chickens, cultivating the family garden, and caring for numerous beautiful flower beds. After the kids left home, Mary worked as a rural postal carrier as well as a worker in the Parkland College Bookstore. She was also active with St. Patrick and St. Mary’s Catholic churches. Mary was a great supporter of her family and their interests. While her kids were at home, she volunteered with their scout troops, 4-H clubs, and school and sport activities. Perhaps the things she enjoyed the most were the simple family times spent together. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Freese Funeral Home, Traditions Healthcare team, R Angell’s caregivers, and Robin Graham for their caring support to Mary and our family. Services will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pesotum on Friday, April, 5, 2024 with the rosary at 9 am followed by visitation, funeral mass at 11 am, followed by burial services at St. Patrick’s cemetery in Tolono. The family suggests memorials can be made to St. Mary’s Catholic church, Crisis Nursery, or the donor’s favorite organization.
