Mitzie D. Buoy

Mitzie Buoy, 63, of Sadorus passed away at 3:35 AM, Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, March 30, 2024 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Sadorus, with Pastor Michael Stoeger officiating.  Burial will be at Lewis Cemetery, Tuscola.  Visitation will be from 12 to 1 PM Saturday at the church.  Freese Funeral Home, Tolono is assisting with arrangements.

Mrs. Buoy was born November 26, 1960 in Champaign, a daughter to Harold and Iva Collins Darnall.  She married Richard R. Buoy of April 17, 1982, he preceded in death on June 28, 2016.  She is survived by her father and step-mother; Harold and Shirley Darnall of Rantoul, two sons; Richard David Buoy of Sadorus and Douglas (Kristina) Buoy of Tolono, two grandchildren; Jason Jayne and Shaylinn Buoy, and siblings; Barry (Diane) Darnall of Ohio, and Sherry Darnall of South Carolina.  She was preceded in death by her mother, a brother, Jake Galyath, a sister; Bobbie Lynn, and a brother-in-law David Hartman.

She was employed at County Market in Champaign.  Mitzie enjoyed drag racing with her boys and camping.  Although Mitzie was a quiet person, her presence could always be felt.  If you ever needed to know Mitzie’s bedtime, all you needed to know was if the sun was down, it was bedtime.  Mitzie loved her family dearly and she will be surely missed.
